But after heading to an event, cocktail party or performance – or a late-night arrival at Palm Springs International Airport– some visitors may be looking for a late-night place to eat. We’ve heard from locals and tourists alike looking for recommendations about where to find drinks, bar bites or sit-down dinners in the later hours of the evening. Here’s our round up of some of our favorite spots that are open late into the evenings that promise a great time when the sun goes down. Note: Hours of operation may change seasonally. Wherever you travel, it’s best practice to check out a restaurant’s website, social media or call their host stand in order to confirm when their kitchen closes or when they have their last seating! North Palm Springs Paul Bar Want to end your evening somewhere private? Head no further than Paul Bar on the corner of Gene Autry and Vista Chino. This discreet speakeasy-style restaurant is unique among many restaurants for having a kitchen that’s open until 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 p.m. on weeknights. Paul Bar wows locals and visitors alike with their strong classic cocktails, shareable small plates and expertly crafted entrees like chicken schnitzel, steak frites and the signature Paulburger served with a unique bacon aioli. For bourbon lovers – or the bourbon-curious – the frozen sidecar is drinks and dessert in one. Open until 11 pm Wed. & Thur., 12 am Fri. & Sat.; Closed Mon. & Tue. Downtown The Village Pub The Village is a diverse exciting establishment which includes a restaurant, sports bar and nightclub offering great food and fun. They thrive on diversity and welcome everyone with open arms to dance, make friends, eat, relax and enjoy. They offer a late night menu that begins at 10 pm. Lots of classic pub sharable dishes plus burgers, pizza, and salad options. The renowned restaurants has also earned additional accolades such as the AAA Four Diamond Award, the Palm Springs Life Best of the Best, and the OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award. At The Steakhouse, guests enjoy the finest prime steaks and fresh seafood in a sophisticated, comfortable setting, along with the first-class service. Open until 10 pm Sun. – Thur., 11 pm Fri. & Sat. Credit: The Steakhouse Retro Room Lounge This isn’t where you go to wind down. This is where you go to rev-it-up. Retro Room Lounge has a retro inspired interior and known for its relaxed atmosphere, friendly customers and excellent staff. The bar serves specialty cocktails with weekly happy hours and hosts regular karaoke nights and drag shows. A ideal spot for a fun night out in Palm Springs. Open until 2 am nightly. Las Palmas Brewing Las Palmas Brewing is a one-of-a-kind stop in Palm Springs where you’ll find a tasty array of house-brewed beers, a curated selection of craft cans from the region, and a host of organic wines. In 2020 during the pandemic, they started hosting pop-up restaurants with high-quality comfort food like tacos, pizza and burgers. The tradition has continued well into 2022 with the likes of Poppin’ Off Pies, Hoja Blanca and Tacon’ Todo coming in on selected dates. Check their Facebook page each month for the food calendar! With a laid-back vibe and casual patios in the front and back of the bar plus limited booth and bar seating inside, Las Palmas is an excellent choice if you’re flying solo or bringing a crew. Either way, you’ll leave happier than you came in. Open until 12 am Fri. & Sat., 11 pm Mon. – Thur., and 7 pm on Sun. Blackbook Palm Springs This is located in the popular arenas district known for a very friendly and active nightlife. Blackbook is a low-key cocktail bar with a small kitchen and a big heart. They serve award-winning craft cocktails—without the wait or attitude—and classic American comfort food. They offer a curated whiskey list of more than 450 bottles and a rotating selection of craft beers, seltzers, and spiked kombucha. Their Palm Springs style nachos are one of a kind and served on either a 1/4 or 1/2 (cookie) sheet. They also offer a two-handed burger with hand-cut fries. Choose the Blackbook and enjoy 1/2 pound angus beef with Applewood Smoked Bacon. If you want a very hearty sharable snack, we highly recommend the Disco Fries. Open until 12 am Fri. & Sat., 11 pm Sun. – Thur. New York Pizza Known as NYPD Pizza (New York Pizza Delivery), most locally refer to it just as New York Pizza. This place offers a lot more than just pizza! They have hot subs, pastas, salads, and munchies. They are happy to customize however you want. They also offer a full bar. Open until 2 am nightly. Uptown Bootlegger Tiki Tucked in the original Don the Beachcomber tiki restaurant stands Bootlegger Tiki. We serve handcrafted drinks from our fan-craved originals to classic tiki cocktails. Open until 1 am Fri. & Sat., until 11 pm Sun. – Thur. Birba Want to dine al fresco under the starry desert skies? Birba’s patio is a lively yet laid-back spot where you’ll find handmade pasta and woodfired pizza, plus an extensive menu of craft cocktails. Outdoor heat lamps add cozy atmosphere in the cooler evenings. Or you can sidle up to the covered bar for a more casual experience. The last seating is at 9:30 p.m., but reservations are recommended – though walk-ins are accepted. There is also limited bar seating and the patio fills up fast! Open until 10 pm Tue. – Sun. Truss and Twine Indulge in Prohibition-era drinks and a menu of decadent small plates at Truss and Twine, a hip and intimate space in the Uptown Design District. In addition to a carefully curated beer and wine list, Truss is known for its delectable original cocktails like the Green Philter with Pernod absinthe, pineapple, lime, house orgeat and cucumber. Know that you’ll be stopping by? Reservations are a great call at this cozy space, especially if you have a larger party – but you can get seated until 11:30 p.m.! Open until 12:30 am Monday – Sunday Tonga Hut Tonga Hut is a really fun space with a great tiki decor. The offer classic tiki drinks like 1934 Zombie, Pain Killer, and Cobra’s Fang. Pair it with a Pu Pu Platter, Kalua Pork Sliders, or the Loco Moco. Open until 1 am Friday & Saturday, 11 pm Sunday, and 12 am Thursday. Closed Mon. – Wed. South Palm Springs Hair of the Dog Looking to keep the party going all night long? Hair of the Dog is a spacious pub-style bar that offers more than 50 beers including, familiar favorites at affordable prices – think a $10 pitcher of Budweiser for you and your friends to share. They’re open all day and all night, making them a go-to spot for a drink any time you’re ready to get your drink on. And if you’re lucky, you’ll be there to catch a food truck on Taco Tuesdays. Open until 2 am nightly Palm Canyon Roadhouse Venerable spot with booths and wood paneling for pub grub, cocktails, beer, plus live music. We recommend checking their Facebook page for entertainment line-up. Generally more country western themed. Open until 2 am nightly Pete’s Hideaway Pete’s Hideaway is a family owned business. Father and daughter proprietors, Pete and Wendy, are always there to provide top quality service and to ensure that you feel welcome and like part of the family. Wendy makes their pasta sauce from a family recipe. Open until 11 pm nightly. El Jefe Desert Cantina Part-speakeasy, part-lounge, El Jefe Desert Cantina is located just beyond the Saguaro’s lobby, where guests will enter through a hidden door tucked into a bookcase. Anchored by a collection of agave-based spirits, the menu features nearly 20 unique cocktails for fans of seasonal and classic mezcal and tequila drinks. Try El Jefe’s The Floor is Guava—made with Fresno chili-infused tequila blanco and pink guava—or choose a mezcal riff on something more familiar, like the Mezcal Old Fashioned or Mezcal Negroni. Open until 1 am Thur. and 1:30 am Fri. & Sat.
