More than a luxe hotel, it is like Palm Springs’ “Rowan Restaurant Row” – home to four fabulous restaurants and lounges all in one place: The Window Bar, The 4 Saints rooftop fine dining restaurant, The rooftop High Bar, and the side-walk café-like Juniper Table. All with unique views and exciting new cuisine. All welcoming everyone: locals, visitors, and guests! Chef Richard Crespin

“Palm Springs is a very social town. We want The Rowan Restaurants to be the beacon of hospitality for the city,” enthused Rowan Executive Chef Richard Crespin. “Our hotel guests are the cherry on the top.” Since Chef Richard took the helm he is quickly making good on his promise.

No surprise, since he’s worked with the best including Gordon Ramsay, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Kiyomi Mikuni. His distinct international culinary expertise is rooted in classic French technique and informed by his studies in New York, Paris, Spain and Japan.

Window Bar at the Rowan

It’s the newest happy hour happening in town. New nightly specialty craft cocktails. An extensive whisky and gin menu. New supercool live entertainment headlining DJ Modgirl on Thursdays and Fridays!

Bar Bites

Chef Richard designed the Bar Bites menu for the Window Bar as fine cuisine to compliment this beautiful space, and make you feel welcome and at home. Does it ever. “A mix of bar food and heartier cuisine,” Chef explained.

Tempting choices include pecans roasted with harissa spice and sugar. Manchego cheese and olives with Spanish olive oil, herbs, and citrus.  Tuna tartare ribbons with avocado-wasabi, radish, and ginger marinade. Heartier fare like littleneck clams and chorizo with white wine pan sauce served with garlic bread. Braised short rib quesadilla with ancho sauce, pickled onions, watercress, and vinaigrette.

Classic bar-food fans love the beer cheese fondue served with soft Bavarian pretzels for dipping. Potato tots with BBQ spice and tomato jam. Three cheese and mushroom flatbread with panna sauce.

In addition to craft cocktails and spirits, The Window Bar pours fine wines. Beer on draft like California brews 21st Amendment, a Mexican-style lager; Smog City IPA, and Modern Times’ Fuitlands Sour. Liqueurs, cordials and more.

And with The Window Bar’s prime street-level location in the heart of downtown (with plenty of free parking), it’s an ideal choice for happy hour, pre-dinner drinks and a nightcap.

Happy Hour daily 5 – 7 pm.

What’s Chef’s favorite? The Manchego + Olives. “It’s like a traditional tapa.”

High Bar at The Rowan

High Bar is the highest poolside bar and eatery of the Rowan restaurants and also in Palm Springs. Offering blue sky above and sweeping views of the city, the valley, and the mountains from seven floors up. Chef Richard’s rolled out a new sharable menu – lighter and vibrant for summer. There is also new specialty cocktails, wines, bubbles, craft beers and seltzers.  make The High Bar a perfect locals’ and visitors’ pick for an easy-chic breakfast, lunch or dinner. The new menu is already a hit. “Folks are liking the sharable menu,” enthused Chef Richard, “because they can order several plates and not get bored with one flavor.”

New shareable favorites include the Baja shrimp tacos with slaw, avocado cilantro sauce, Mexican crema, Pico De Gallo, and queso fresco. Poke nachos featuring wonton chips, green onion, spicy mayo, ahi tuna, avocado, serranos, sweet soy and cilantro. Strawberry toast with strawberries, orange zest whipped ricotta and mascarpone cheese, balsamic glaze, candied pistachio, fresh mint, on sough dough. And the sweet corn breakfast burrito with crispy potatoes, butternut squash, bacon, onion, scrambled eggs, roasted tomatoes, and roasted pepper sauce. For dessert: daily gelato.

High-Bar-Rowan

Yes, bring the kids. The High Bar children’s menu serves kids’ chicken tenders with comeback sauce and fries. Grilled cheese made with cheddar on sourdough. And two beef sliders with white cheddar and fries.

Sit at the bar, at high-top tables overlooking the mountains, or at tables and loungers around the pool. Savor the rooftop experience – and a specialty cocktail.

What’s Chef’s favorite? The “Poke Nachos.”

Tip: Monday is Industry Night. All hospitality and restaurant workers enjoy 20% off select drinks, 8 – 10 pm.

The 4 Saints  – Rowan Rooftop Restaurant

The pinnacle of Palm Springs dining – literally. The Michelin-recommended 4 Saints Restaurant offers a refined dining experience on the rooftop of The Rowan, framed by stunning views of Palm Springs, the Coachella Valley, and San Jacinto Mountains. Old-school curved booths, a cheery four-sided bar, and outdoor terrace seating compliment the views and cuisine.

True to his word, he’s putting his culinary philosophy to full force, introducing a bevy of new dishes, excellent new wines – 95% domestic (Napa, Sonoma, Pinot from Oregon) and 5% French and Italian – and new cocktails. “My culinary style is a love letter to what mother nature offers us during the seasons, finessed by time-honored techniques, and influenced by Spanish, Japanese, African, Thailand and French cuisines,” he explained. Using ingredients sourced from Southern California’s finest ranches, farms, and waters.

The Juniper Table

Like Palm Springs’ equivalent to a café on a European town square, the Juniper Table – Chef Richard and F&B Director Jerry Perez refer to it as “JT.”  It offers a new and beautifully crafted all-day menu, a new dinner menu and a new large and diverse drink menu. All served outside on the large sunny ground-level patio (or inside). It’s part of The Block., Palm Springs’ downtown plaza that’s home to Forever Marilyn, the desert’s most famous and photographed artwork, and the Palm Springs Art Museum. Perfect for a leisurely Euro-style afternoon watching the world go by with good friends, good food and good drinks.

His new JT menu sports a Euro-like theme with Mediterranean-inspired casual fare and a large drink menu including cocktails, pink bubbly, wine, craft beer, and high-end coffee. “JT is an excellent farm-to-table experience, and not expensive,” said Perez. “Take a seat, people watch, and order whatever your mood dictates.” Perfect for meeting friends; before or after a downtown event; after posing with Marilyn, a break from shopping in Palm Springs’ boutiques and galleries.

Juniper Table Breakfast

Breakfast entrees include classic scones with wild berry jam and house-made cream. Smoked salmon toast on sourdough with whipped lemon dill cream, pickled red onion, fried capers and radish. The Juniper Table breakfast with two organic eggs, potatoes, and choice of bacon, chicken apple sausage, vegan sausage, breads and muffins. Killer breakfast tostada with crispy potato, chorizo, sunny-side-up eggs, avocado, queso fresco, crema, pico de gallo, and radish.

Juniper Table Lunch

Luncheon choices feature a “Classic Caesar” salad, with house dressing, and house croutons. The signature “JT Burger,” a house-blend beef patty, with bacon, heirloom tomato, gruyere, aioli, and market greens. Hand-rolled “Trofie Pasta,” with peas, pancetta, parmesan cream sauce. And pizza! From “California,” with asparagus, red sauce, Calabrian aioli, spring onion, pistachio, pecorino cheese and saba, to “Spicey Soppressata,” with crushed tomato sauce, fior di latte mozzarella and oregano.

Juniper-table-pizza

Tip: Enjoy Thirsty Tuesdays. Select draft beers are only $1 with the purchase of one pizza.

JT Dinner

At 3 pm, JT’s menu switches to dinner. Presenting new dishes and applause-worthy drinks. New shared plates include the irresistible baked brie with candied spiced pecans, rosemary, honey, green apple, and artisan crostinis. New entrees like pan roasted wild Scottish salmon with baby potatoes, Niçoise olives, red onion, dijon sauce and soft-boiled egg. The Moroccan spiced chicken with cold and roasted carrots, dried fava bean hummus, cumin spiced yogurt. “The sauces give this dish a delicious smokiness,” Chef enthused. Also, the “Juniper Garden Vegetables,” with baby potatoes, heirloom tomato, asparagus, radish, heirloom carrots, house aioli, and artisan crostini.

And desserts – yes!  Think caramel apple flan with spiced roasted pepitas or gelato sorbet duo (also on the all-day menu) in daily flavors.

What’s Chef’s favorite? The Breakfast Tostada. “It’s like a cross between Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros.”

ZOOM! Palm Springs Air Museum Flight Tours

Warbird Experiences

By Barbara Beckley

History flies through the skies at the Palm Springs Air Museum. And you can, too!

Did you know? You can actually fly into the wild blue yonder over Palm Springs in some of the world’s most famous fighter planes.

Imagine – Being buckled up in the seats that carried WWII paratroopers to the Beaches of Normandy. Where WWII fighter pilots cut their chops. P-51 Mustang pilots won WWII with air superiority. Korean War hot shots rescued downed comrades. And on the cushy side, Barron Hilton flew over his hotel empire.

It’s true. The Palm Springs Air Museum is one of the few where you can book high-flying rides in seven historic aircraft. A thrilling experience, to say the least. Relive history with a Palm Springs Air Museum flight on a “Warbird Ride” – or all – of these rare and vintage aircraft.

Palm Springs Air Museum

 C-47 Skytrain Air Museum Flights

A superlative military cargo plane that saw widespread use to transport men and material in every theater of WWII, carrying paratroopers and towing gliders full of soldiers and heavy equipment into battle. It’s best known for dropping thousands of paratroopers into occupied France before and during the Normandy D-Day Invasion in June 1944.

You’ll fly in the museum’s C-47 “What’s Up Doc,” built by Douglas Aircraft Company in Oklahoma and delivered to the British Royal Air Force (RAF) in early 1947. Its later assignments included Belgium in 1949; the French Air Force beginning in 1952; and the Israeli Air Force from 1967 to 1997, before arriving in Palm Springs in 2003. While it could carry 28 paratroopers, 14 stretchers and 10,000 pounds of cargo, “What’s Up Doc” takes 5-10 passengers per flight.

Palm Springs Air Museum-C47-Skytrain

PT-17 Stearman Air Museum Flights

The initial military training aircraft of US fighter pilots during WWII, it’s safe to say nearly every fighter pilot with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Air Force, and Royal Canadian Air Force got their start in a Boeing-built Stearman Model 75 biplane like this one. Post-war, many were sold to civilians, becoming popular as crop-dusters, sports planes and for aerobatics and wing-walking in air shows.

The 1941 Stearman at the Palm Springs Air Museum is unique. First, its engine offers double the horsepower of most. Second, it was previously owned by hotel mogul Barron Hilton, nicknamed “The Flying Innkeeper” for his love of planes. Upon his death in 2019, the Hilton family donated this one to the museum for safe keeping.

With only two seats; one for the pilot and one for the trainee pilot, the PT-17 Stearman takes one passenger at a time. You’re in front, facing the wide-open skies.

Palm Springs Air Museum-PT-17-Stearman

T-6 Texan Air Museum Flights

The North American Aviation-built T-6 Texan served as an advanced combat trainer aircraft during WWII for the U.S. Navy and RAF. It was the final training before the pilots moved on to see action in their fighters. Post-war, the Texan continued to serve as a training aircraft before being phased out in the early 1950’s. In all, it trained several hundred thousand pilots in 34 countries. The versatile T-6 Texan also saw action as a fighter plane, winning honors in WW II and the early days of the Korean War.

In addition to rescuing downed pilots. The paint scheme of the museum’s beautiful T-6D is an authentic replication of the 354th Fighter Groups’ Squadron Hack, “Heave Ho,” in WWII. Part of the meticulous restoration by Pacific Fighters before the museum acquired it in 2021. Described as a “pilot’s airplane,” it can roll, Immelmann, loop, spin, snap, and vertical roll, for the best possible military training from ground strafing to bombardment and aerial dogfighting. Maybe ask your pilot to demonstrate? Again, with only two seats, the T-6 takes one passenger per flight.

Palm Springs Air MuseumT-6-Texam Warbird Rides

T-28 Trojan Air Museum Flights

In the years after WWII, this aircraft took over the T-6’s role as the advanced training aircraft, first flying in 1949 and continuing through the early 1960s. A limited number of T-28’s even saw combat in Vietnam. In the beginning in 1962 the U.S. Air Force modified more than 200 as tactical fighter-bombers for counterinsurgency warfare. Re-designating them as the T-28D “Nomad,” for close air support against enemy troops in Southeast Asia. The North American Aviation-built planes continued to fly in the Air National Guard until the late 1950s, and the U.S. Navy into the 1980s. As with the museum’s other trainers, there’s room for only two. You and the pilot. One passenger per flight.

Palm Springs Air Museum-T-28-Trojan

P-51 Mustang Air Museum Flights

Simply the best! Fly in the museum’s “Bunny” or “Man O’ War,” two of the most legendary fighters of WWII. Acknowledged better than the British Spitfire and better than Germany’s BF-109 in countless categories.

There is no more recognizable warbird than this long-range, single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during WWII, the Korean War and other conflicts. Designed in 1940 by North American Aviation, it was first flown by the RAF, competing with the Luftwaffe’s fighters. In 1943, the U.S. Air Force used it to escort bombers in raids over Germany; and as fighter-bombers by the U.S. Air Force and RAF ensuring Allied air superiority in 1944. The P-51 was also used by Allied forces in the North African, Mediterranean, Italian, and Pacific theaters. At the start of the Korean War, it was re-designated F-51, and became a specialized fighter-bomber. Following that conflict, Mustangs became popular civilian warbirds and air racing aircraft.

Bunny

“Bunny” was built in 1944 in Inglewood, California by North American Aviation and served with the U.S. Army Air Force until 1956. Meticulously restored to flight status by the Palm Springs Air Museum, it’s dedicated to Lt. Col. Bob Friend and the Tuskegee Airmen “Red Tails.”

Man O’ War

“Man O’ War,” a P-51D Mustang, was built in 1945, also by North American Aviation in its Inglewood factory. It was too late to see combat. But right on time for a starring role at Universal Studios. Purchased by Universal Studios in 1957 (after stints in England, and with New Jersey National Guard and U.S. Air Force), “Man O’ War” starred in the 1957 movie “Battle Hymn,” and was displayed as part of a Universal Studios attraction. Unfortunately, the attraction required a WWII fighter with a combat damaged appearance, so it was punched with holes and other deliberate damage done. In 1970, the P-51D was purchased from Universal. Purchased again in 1974 and given an authentic WWII paint scheme as “Man O’ War,” the personal aircraft of Lt. Col. Claiborne H. Kinnard, a highly decorated commander, with 25 enemy aircraft destroyed to his credit. “Man O’ War” is one of the few aircraft on loan to the museum.

Again, one lucky passenger gets to experience each of these legends.

Palm Springs Air Museum-P-51-Mustang

T-33 Shooting Star Air Museum Flights

Enter the jet age! The T-33 is the first ever U.S. jet training aircraft, developed by Lockheed, replacing the Trojans as a subsonic jet trainer in 1948 and continuing as an advanced trainer throughout the 1950’s. The museum’s T-33 joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951, and the U.S. Navy in 1961. After being retired from the service, it served as a pace plane at the Reno Air Races. In 2011, it landed at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Just you and the jet pilot. A worth-every-penny thrill at $4,995 per passenger, per flight.

Palm Springs Air MuseumT-33 Shooting-Star Plane

Impressive Beyond Belief

Renowned as one of the world’s best, step inside the Palm Springs Air Museum and even if you thought you weren’t an air buff, you’ll be fascinated. Boasting more than 73 flyable and static aircraft from WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and Operation Desert Storm; plus, the newly acquired F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter jet, and Walt Disney’s personal Grumman Gulfstream, “The Mouse.”  All intelligently positioned within some 91,000 square feet of hangars and tarmacs, with displays and memorabilia depicting the wars and areas where each plane flew, putting everything in context. Plus, interactive experiences, shows, presentations, photo ops galore, and a large and unique gift shop.

With a deep passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences, Hermann has carved a niche in the industry by designing and developing some of the most breathtaking hotels worldwide. From opulent interiors to stunning views, every detail is meticulously crafted to offer guests unparalleled comfort and indulgence.

Steve Hermann Hotels are strategically situated in some of the most picturesque destinations in the world. From tranquil coastal towns to vibrant urban landscapes, these hotels offer diverse experiences for every traveler. Palm Springs is blessed to have three of Steve Hermann Hotels in our destination. These include L’Horizon Palm Springs, The Colony Palms Hotel, and the Hermann Bungalows.

These hotels are the epitome of sophistication, elegance, and comfort, providing guests with an exceptional experience. Let’s explore them.

L’Horizon Palm Springs

One of the notable properties from Steve Hermann Hotels is L’Horizon. Originally built in 1952, the property was designed by renowned architect William F. Cody as a private residence for oil tycoon Jack Wrather and his wife, actress Bonita Granville. Wrather, known for his involvement in the television series “The Lone Ranger” and “Lassie,” envisioned a luxurious hideaway in the desert.

Over the years, the hotel changed ownership multiple times and underwent several renovations, each maintaining its midcentury modern aesthetic while adding modern amenities.

In 2015, it became a Steve Hermann Hotel, and L’Horizon Palm Springs was completely redesigned and reopened as a luxury boutique hotel. It captures the essence of its original design while infusing it with contemporary touches. It is designed as a 25-bedroom house, with no two rooms the same.

L'Horizon Palm Springs The Residence

Several of the rooms have fireplaces, and all have richly grained, custom-milled tongue-and-groove pine ceilings. To complement, all bungalows have lye-treated wood floors. Sweeping walls of glass are shielded by motorized curtains. Classic vintage chairs, such as a Percival Lafer or a George Mulhauser, sit against new pieces. There are hand-sewn hide-on-hair rugs and lighting by Brendan Ravenhill. Enjoy original artwork throughout the property.

This stunning boutique hotel highlights modernist architecture and features spacious bungalows and suites that exude a sense of understated luxury. Each room is thoughtfully designed with stylish furnishings, high-end amenities, and private outdoor spaces. This allows guests to unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding desert landscape and San Jacinto mountains.

L'Horizon

This Steve Hermann Hotel has won dozens of awards including the #1 Resort in the world by the readers of Conde Naste Traveller Magazine.

One of the highlights of L’Horizon is its stunning infinity pool, which seems to merge seamlessly with the expansive desert landscape. Surrounded by lush palm trees, the pool area is an oasis of serenity. Guests can unwind under the warm Palm Springs sun or take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. Poolside loungers and cabanas invite relaxation, providing the perfect spot to soak up the sun or enjoy a refreshing cocktail from the hotel’s bar.

SO•PA

For those seeking culinary delights, L’Horizon’s restaurant, SO•PA, is a gastronomic haven that showcases the finest flavors of the region. The name is short for South of Palm Springs. Led by an acclaimed chef, the menu tantalizes taste buds with a fusion of local, seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques. Whether savoring a leisurely breakfast, a delectable lunch, or an exquisite dinner, guests are treated to an unforgettable gastronomic journey. This is a perfect complement to the hotel’s overall experience. Because seating is outdoors, during the heat of the summer dinner is served at the main Bar and Poolside Cabanas. You can also order room service.

The Colony Palms Hotel and Bungalows

The Colony Palms Hotel has a rich and fascinating history that dates back to the early 1930s. Originally known as the Colonial House, it was built by renowned mobster Al Wertheimer as a luxury desert hideaway for his gangster friends.

In the late 1990s, the property was purchased by a new owner who recognized its historical significance and embarked on an extensive renovation project. The hotel was restored to its former glory and rebranded as the Colony Palms Hotel, reclaiming its original name.

Steve has followed up his success by adding The Colony Palms Hotel to the Steve Hermann Hotels portfolio, which he has transformed into another spectacular luxury resort.

One of the significant updates made by Hermann was the addition of modern amenities and luxurious touches. He incorporated high-end finishes and custom-designed furniture throughout the hotel to provide guests with a seamless blend of comfort and sophistication.

The guest rooms underwent a complete transformation, featuring updated interiors with plush linens, stylish furnishings, and luxurious bathrooms. The communal spaces, including the lobby, bar, and restaurant, were also redesigned to create inviting and elegant environments.

Throughout the renovation process, Hermann respected the historic significance of the Colony Palms Hotel, preserving its heritage while infusing it with a contemporary aesthetic. Colony Palms Dining – The Colony Cub

Taking its cues from the hotel’s enthralling design, The Colony Club offers a modern interpretation of American Continental and classic European cuisine. Here, you’ll enjoy an elevated culinary experience with seasonal menus that rely on ingredients from local farms and purveyors. From classic chicken schnitzel to sea bass served with artichokes a la barigoule (a popular dish from the Provence region of France), there is much to savor. They offer an extensive list of wines, curated spirits and liqueurs, and handcrafted cocktails made with fresh ingredients. Arenas District Guide

This is home.

By Randy Garner

The Arenas District in Palm Springs and the Castro District in San Francisco are two neighborhoods that have a lot in common. While they share some similarities, they also have unique characteristics that make them stand out.

The Arenas District in Palm Springs is known for its vibrant nightlife scene. The district is home to several bars, retail stores, and great places to grab a bite to eat. The Arenas District also boasts a midcentury style in architecture, which adds to its charm.

Dean Lavine, owner of Blackbook and the Evening Citizen in the Arenas District notes, “This is home. We have thriving businesses that represent some of the best that Palm Springs has to offer. Our shops are for everyone under the rainbow.”

On the other hand, the Castro District in San Francisco is known for its rich history and culture. The neighborhood is considered the heart of the LGBTQ+ community in the city and is steeped in activism and progressive politics. The neighborhood is also known for its bustling commercial area that offers a wide range of shops and restaurants.

Let’s explore the Arenas District.

Arenas District Gay Bars

Chill Bar

Chill Bar is decorated with an eclectic mix of retro and modern elements. The outdoor patio is the perfect spot to sip on your drink while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. And speaking of drinks, the bar offers a wide range of beer and cocktails to choose from.

But, Chill Bar isn’t just about the drinks and ambiance; it’s also a hub for events and entertainment. From bingo nights to drag shows to a Sunday brunch, there’s always something going on at this popular spot. And, let’s not forget about the music, which ranges from classic hits to the latest pop tunes, ensuring that everyone can dance the night away.

Hunters Palm Springs

Known for its atmosphere, friendly staff, and frequent events and parties, Hunters is a must visit when in the Arenas District. The venue features a huge dance floor, outdoor patio, multiple bars, and a stage for live entertainment. Hunters draws an eclectic mix throughout the week, like Fur Friday. It’s where bears gather for a cheap happy hour in the afternoon, but by nightfall, it transforms. Here you will find a mixed crowd. Certain nights you’ll also find drag queen bingo, trivia or karaoke.

Quadz

Quadz is part of the row of bars in the Arenas District, the center of Palm Springs nightlife. This musical theater video bar isn’t just a favorite place to grab a drink, it’s a local favorite for belting out show tunes. It’s a place where people come together for friendship, cocktails, and the most fun Broadway sing-along you’ll ever experience. You would think this was a ticked event. Even if Barbra Streisand belting “Don’t Rain On My Parade” or Jennifer Holliday’s 1982 Tony Awards performance are unknown songs to you, by the end of night, you’ll be a trained expert.

Streetbar

The Streetbar is a historic gay bar that has been in operation since the 1990s, when Palm Springs was a bit of a sleepy town. The bar quickly became popular for its lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and fun events.

Over the years, the Streetbar has played host to numerous drag shows, karaoke nights, live entertainment and other special events. It has also become one of the most popular destinations for locals and visitors alike, thanks in part to its prime location and reputation for inclusivity. It’s like the show Cheers where “everybody knows your name” (and bartenders know your drink).

Blackbook

Blackbook blurs the lines between being a bar and a restaurant. The name is inspired by the Nevada Gaming Commission’s “black book” of excluded persons. Not here. This Blackbook is an inclusion bar. It also features the largest whiskey selection in Palm Springs.

Their food menu became an overnight hit. It’s a gay bar, but whenever you’re there, people are eating.  They accidentally became a restaurant because their food is so good. Everything is made fresh in-house. Amazing burgers, Nashville hot chicken, and their signature Palm Springs Style nachos. Try them all!

Dick’s on Arenas

Dick’s on Arenas is gay owned, gay operated, and for the gay community. They offer an atmosphere where pretentiousness and judgment are left behind. The theme is Leather and Levi, but all are welcome, so come as you are.  Open until 2 am nightly.

Evening Citizen

This speakeasy is more of a luxury lounge than a bar, hidden in the center of the Arenas District, waiting to be discovered. It’s unsigned and unadvertised, as you would expect from a speakeasy of the 1920’s. You will need to first make a reservation and then the location will be revealed. To get inside, you will need to locate the hidden entrance. Your GPS may not help you here. Phone use and photos are not permitted. You won’t be disappointed. Make that reservation.

Arenas District Restaurants

While many of the bars on Arenas serve food, Sonny’s Bar & Grill is the newest restaurant. They offer a Sunrise Menu served from 8 am – 2 pm with your favorite American style selections. The Grand Breakfast includes buttermilk pancakes or French toast, 2 eggs, maple smoked bacon or sausage, medallion fries (sliced potatoes), and a choice of bun. The Sunset Menu is served 4 – 9 pm. The Arenas District Surf & Turf includes a 12 oz ribeye steak and tiger shrimp served with mashed potatoes and veggies.

The store carries a mix of known brands as well as up-and-coming designers. In addition to clothing, Division also offers a wide selection of jewelry and accessories, including sunglasses, scarves, and hats.

GayMart USA

GayMart boasts a large selection of swimwear and undies. Gay brands include Andrew Christian, Sauvage, and Whittal & Shon. From poolside to clubbing, they have a great selection of fun and frisky attire that’s otherwise hard to find. You might find a few playthings there too.

Rough Trade Gear

Rough Trade Gear specializes in leather gear, fetish-wear, and adult toys. The store offers a wide selection of products including boots, harnesses, jockstraps, chaps, and more for men who enjoy the leather and fetish scene.

Bear Wear

Bear Wear is a boutique store nestled in the heart of Arenas District. They offer men’s fashion, jewelry, home accessories and gifts. The current owners, Philip and Bruce, took ownership in 2014 reenergizing the store and enlarging the customer base.  Since then they have been selecting unique items, taking pride in hand selecting products. Their purpose is to bring fashion and style to all in the community, recognizing that not all can have the “perfect body” and that some customers prefer a more mature and robust body type.
