Laid-back pools to soak up the sun

Arrive pool

Summer is upon us and there is only one place where everyone in Palm Springs should be….the pool. Who doesn’t love to sip, splash, then repeat? Of course, it’s hot outside, but that doesn’t take away from the cold water, pool toys, and crafted cocktails in citrus-colored plastic glasses . Luckily for you sun-worshippers, we have compiled our top picks of the most exquisite and laid-back pools  for you to enjoy during your own summer of love.

Arrive is new to the scene and it is known as a neighborhood establishment where locals are expected to mixed with Palm Springs visitors. At Arrive you can relish in the courtyard pool and oversized Jacuzzi, or cozy-up in group fire pits with surround seating. Bocce ball, ping pong and a homemade ice cream shop add to the list of stress busters.

The Monkey Tree Hotel

Monkey Tree Hotel is Palm Springs’s other newest baby. With 16 boutique rooms tucked into a private corner in North Palm Springs, the Monkey tree celebrates its mid-century design through the décor and vibe. A large pool stocked with oversize floaties, a Scandinavian spa, hot and cold plunge pools, and sauna simply force those muscles to relax. Breakfast and sangria
are served each day in the vintage lounge.

Korakia Pensione

Named “One of the Sexiest Pools in the World” by Travel and Leisure Magazine, not one, but two pools grace this exquisite jewel of a hotel located in the Historic Tennis District. Both salt water, the Moroccan pool is designed with an infinity edge and fire pits along the edge. The Mediterranean pool is washed with sunlight among whitewashed villas  and stone paths. Daybeds, yoga, daily tea, and breakfast poolside is all you’ll need to learn to daydream again.

Colony Palms

The outdoor restaurant is five feet away from the pool…how great is that? The weekend can wind down with brunch at the Purple Palm, so you can leave the great swim coverup on for a few more hours before you head home.  You’ll want to float in the pool all day, but you’d miss the casitas tucked about with private patios, outdoor lounge beds and bathtubs for two.

Orbit In and Hideaway

Twins…but not identical. The Orbit In sports   poolside a Boomerang Bar to enjoy your Orbitinis, while the Hideaway is just that – tucked away, but with expansive grounds and a close up look at the San Jacinto mountains.  In-room bars, vintage tile baths and cruiser bikes to explore Palm Springs combine to make these two mod pads groovy, indeed.

Ace Hotel & Swim Club

The pool scene at this hipster hotel is hot, and stays hot for all of summer. At the Ace Hotel you can enjoy live DJs, cocktails, pools, and hot tubs! This is a great place to be with friends when you escape to Palm Springs. Or if you have children, this is the place to go! It’s both bohemian and kid-friendly, in that artsy relaxed chic sort of way. Bring your kids, bring your dog, the Ace Hotel & Swim Club is family and pet-friendly. Not a guest? Not a problem! The Ace Hotel & Swim Club charge non-guest $25 a day to use the pool and fitness club. Be sure to check the events calendar for different events throughout the year.
