Palm Springs is known for its architecture, design, and colorful public art, but some of the city's most interesting creative spaces are tucked away from the main tourist streets.
The Via Negocio Art District is one of them.
Located just north of downtown, Via Negocio is home to working artists whose studios offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. The artists work in a range of mediums, from painting and printmaking to sculpture, mixed media, and photography, often drawing inspiration from the desert landscape and Palm Springs' distinctive character.
This isn't a traditional gallery district. Many of the spaces are working studios and don't maintain regular public hours. If you'd like to meet an artist or see a particular studio, contact the artist ahead of time to arrange a visit.

Lynda Keeler
1800 N Via Negocio, #5
Painter and sculptor Lynda Keeler draws inspiration from the built and natural environments around her. Her work often transforms familiar elements of Southern California—from neighborhood streets and architecture to desert landscapes and plants—into colorful abstract compositions.
Keeler is also a co-founder of Desert Open Studios, which has grown into a major annual celebration of the Coachella Valley's working artists.

Julie Weiman

Julie Weiman creates abstract paintings and textile works inspired by the landscape and textures of the Mojave Desert. Her work incorporates materials ranging from inks, dyes, and graphite to vintage textiles, antique linens, garments, and lace.

One of the best opportunities to experience Via Negocio is during Desert Open Studios, when artists throughout the Coachella Valley open their workspaces to visitors.
