Tip: High season is considered January – March. As we move into May, you’ll find better values on hotel rates. Sunday – Thursday rates are always better than weekend rates throughout the year.

To make the most of your time in Palm Springs, it’s a good idea to find out what events are happening during your stay. From art exhibitions and live music performances, drag brunches and film screenings – there is no shortage of exciting things going on throughout the city.

First Wednesday Art Walk at the Backstreet Art District. 2600 S. Cherokee Way. 5 – 8 pm. This offers a diverse collection of galleries, working artist studios, and art businesses.

Bring your running shoes and join the annual  Shamrock 5K run.

Palm Springs Vintage Market at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. (2300 E Baristo Road) It is the first Sunday of the month. 7am – 2pm. On the San Andreas Fault Jeep Tour adventure you will learn about the plants, animals, geology, and history of the California desert.  Take a walk through a slot canyon created by the powerful forces of plate tectonics, water, wind, and time and enjoy spectacular views as your guide describes the geologic forces and local history that shaped the Coachella Valley. They also offer an Indian Canyons Tour and Painted Canyon Jeep Tour.

Big Wheel Tours offers biking, hiking and jeep tours. Enjoy exploring the city, or the surrounding area like Joshua Tree. They even have a popular mountain bike tour.

Oscars Café & Bar also has a lot of live entertainment that delivers the fun. On the Weekend you will be entertained at the Bitchiest Brunch. Sunday’s also feature the Mimosa Men. The events calendar changes frequently, so check for your visit dates.

Afterwards, explore some local bars and clubs featuring DJ’s spinning top hits until late at night; perfect way to cap off an unforgettable day in this sunny desert oasis! The Village Palm Springs is a diverse and casual place in downtown Palm Springs that includes a restaurant, sports bar and nightclub offering good food and fun until 2 am every night. They welcome everyone to dance, make friends, eat, relax and enjoy.

Looking for a little more playtime, take the Mogo Silent Disco Tour. Springs is a great time of year for this outdoor evening tour as temperatures are cool. MOGO is a music-based tour with fun 70’s disco music. You will be provided headphones and stroll down Palm Canyon with your guide. You’re encouraged to wear your wildest outfits, kaftans, cowboy hats, or something with sequins.

VillageFest Street Fair

VillageFest takes place in downtown Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive every Thursday night. The street is closed to vehicular traffic and is transformed into a festive, pedestrian street fair. The perimeter of the event consists of Indian Canyon Drive to the east and Belardo Road to the west. Vendor booths are set up on both sides of the street, and visitors are able to stroll through the traffic-free event. Hours at 6 – 10 pm in Spring.
