Winzer Records offers new and used records, CDs, local coffee, incense, books, vintage clothing, t-shirts, and more. This boutique record shop is at the lovely La Plaza shopping complex in downtown Palm Springs.
Owner Joerg Winzer has always been fascinated by music. Initially only a fan and collector, he ran a mail order service in the 1990s in his native hometown in Germany, selling indie pop and space rock to obscure labels. The releases were often limited to 500-1000 copies. His love for buying and selling records still runs strong.
He met his wife, Christina, through through their mutual love of music. When he came to the US, he shipped over one hundred boxes of records.
Joerg is also a DJ, mainly focusing on jangly guitar pop and new wave/post-punk, but he also integrates house, jazz, soul, shoegaze, and other styles into his set. You might find him in the Amigo Room at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs.
