Gelato Granucci brings the Art of Gelato, a family tradition since 1929, to Palm springs. Owned and operated by Simonetta “Sam” Rainieri and Tom Allen, this is the Coachella Valley location of a third generation family business. In 1929, Sam’s grandparents emigrated from Italy to start one of, if not the first, Italian gelato shop in the Netherlands. Today, her uncle Edi and cousin Didi continue to run Gelato Granucci in Holland, supplying gelato to over 50 shops. Edi won the Coppa D’oro, one of the most prestigious gelato making awards, in 1996. Sam and Tom are now bringing that tradition and history to the US. Every one of our flavors are made in house, from scratch, using the techniques handed down to us by Edi and Didi. In addition to our gelato, we offer dairy-free sorbets and refreshing granitas. Our gelato can also be enjoyed in a pop, a macaroon sandwich, and a cake or pie.
