Daniel Algazi, the proprietor of DA Computers and Rated Comics, has been in business in the desert since 1999. Rated Comics is his recent venture, initiated approximately three years ago, with the storefront welcoming patrons for over a year. His longstanding passion for comic books and trading cards inspired him to launch a comic book company. Motivated by this enthusiasm, he decided to open a store that stood out from the rest. At Rated Comics, they specialize in collector editions, which are uniquely positioned in the market.
Setting them apart, Daniel successfully negotiated contracts between publishers and artists to produce exclusive limited-edition comics specifically designed for conventions and available in-store. This distinctive approach has garnered attention at major events such as San Diego Comic-Con, Los Angeles Comic Con, and, more recently, the Las Vegas Magic-Con in September 2023, which hosted the World Tournament of Magic the Gathering.
In addition to their commitment to exclusivity, they’ve introduced local Magic The Gathering Tournaments. Open to everyone, these tournaments appeal to those without a card collection, as cards are provided for sealed tournaments. Structured to ensure an engaging experience, 50% of all participants receive prizes, making it a delightful opportunity for newcomers and seasoned players to engage in friendly competition and enjoy the game.
