The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus (PSGMC) was founded in 1999 with the vision of providing a safe and inclusive space for gay men to come together and express themselves through the power of choral music. Over the years, the chorus has grown in size and reputation, captivating audiences with their exceptional performances and heartfelt messages of love, acceptance, and equality.
Both the PSGMC and the Caballeros actively participate in a wide range of community outreach programs and events. They use their platform to promote understanding, inclusivity, and societal acceptance. By collaborating with local organizations, charities, and schools, they aim to positively impact individuals’ lives and promote social change. Donations from these events help support the George Zander Memorial Anti-Bullying Fund. Grants from this fund help support Gay-Straight Alliances in the Palm Springs and Desert Sands Unified School Districts.
The chorus continues to support its community partners by singing at hi-profile events, including Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, the AIDS Assistance Program’s Evening Under the Stars, Equality California Awards, Michael Childer’s “One Night Only” Benefiting Jewish Family Services, and a recent concert in Las Vegas benefiting Family Promise.
