About

In downtown Palm Springs, Tonga Hut Palm Springs is a true tiki oasis, offering an unforgettable experience that blends exotic charm, delicious cuisine, and tempting drinks. With a rich history dating back to the mid-20th century, this iconic establishment has become a beloved destination for locals and tourists alike.

A Slice of History

Established in 1958, Tonga Hut is the oldest continually operating tiki bar in North Hollywood. It was founded by brothers Ace and Ed Libby during the height of the tiki culture, a trend that swept across America after World War II. The bar embraces Polynesian aesthetics, tropical cocktails, and vibrant décor.

Over the years, Tonga Hut has seen numerous transformations. Still, it has retained its original essence, preserving the unique ambiance that transports guests back to a bygone era of palm-fringed beaches and exotic islands. And now you can experience Tonga Hut in Palm Springs!

Polynesian Themed Menu

The food menu at Tonga Hut offers an enticing array of Polynesian-inspired dishes that perfectly complement the tropical setting. Every dish, from appetizers to delicious main courses, is crafted carefully and creatively. Start your culinary journey with spam musubi or flavorful coconut-fried shrimp. Indulge in the delicious pineapple fried rice or teriyaki beef skewers for a heartier option.

Sliders: Choose from a large selection, including spam, Applewood smoked BLT, kalua pork, Nashville hot chicken, and shrimp po boy.

Pu Pu Platter: Includes coconut shrimp, potstickers, eggrolls, Chinese pork ribs, and beef or chicken skewers

Loco Moco: This is a Hawaiian Favorite. A beef or spam patty is served over steamed rice with gravy and a sunny-side-up egg.

Vegetarians and vegans are not forgotten at Tonga Hut, as the menu also features options like veggie sliders and veggie fried rice.

Tonga Hut Palm Springs Exotic Libations
