Showcasing Palm Springs Architecture

Glass & Steel

The A+D Center is composed of glass and steel marked with aluminum screens and glorious panoramic views of the mountains. Renovations have elevated its aesthetic with unique desert landscaping, contemporary open spaces and an elevator. The museum holds significant portions of the Albert Frey, E. Stewart Williams, Arthur Elrod/Harold Broderick, and Hugh Kaptur archives. The collection also includes Frey House II, the historically significant residence in Palm Springs that architect Albert Frey designed for himself in 1963. It was bequeathed to the museum upon his death in 1998.

Accessible to All

“We want to ensure that our growing collection is accessible to architects, scholars, and the general public. And, we want to develop more programming focused on architecture and design, including current innovations in these fields,” said Sidney Williams.  She is the museum’s founding curator of architecture and design. art museum

The A+D Center supports both historic and modern architecture, artistic design and pivotal platforms to benefit the public in these noteworthy fields.  The Friends of the Architecture and Design Center as well as the Architecture and Design Council oversee its leading edge programming and special events.
