Modernism Week 2021

Palm Springs Modernism Week

Modernism Week includes Live, Streaming, and Self-Guided Experiences

The Desert Modernist Architects taught us to adapt to the natural environment in innovative, intentional, and beautiful ways. Modernism Week has applied the same principles to their 2021 program, being mindful of our current environment while making it possible to experience Modernism Week in new ways. Modernism Week has always strived to provide a safe place to inspire and be inspired by midcentury and modern design, in Palm Springs and beyond. This year they are offering a variety of online and socially-distanced in-person events over the next few month.

Modernism Week’s signature festival, normally held in February, has been moved to April 8-18, 2021 and highlights midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture in the Palm Springs area of Southern California. Now in its 16th year, the annual 11-day festival will feature many in-person events including the Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale, tours of Featured Homes, tours of the historic Annenberg Estate at Sunnylands, a garden tour, and many more events on both weekends. All events are open to the public, and many events are free or low cost. In addition to in-person events, Modernism Week will also offer select online events in April as well.

The February Online Experience will feature newly created programs specifically for Modernism Week, available for on-demand streaming starting February 1, 2021 and available for viewing for the entire month. The video programs will be events similar to programs and tours that would typically be available during Modernism Week as in-person events, including the popular Modernism Week
Signature Home Tour Video Series. Ticket prices will range from $15 to $75 per event. Pricing allows for one household with one viewing device to participate. In addition to these programs, Modernism Week will offer an online auction during the February festival that will feature unique architectural experiences and specialty items not normally available to the public.
