In conjunction with Second Saturdays Art Walk, the Lofts Projects presents: “Who’s Afraid of Red, White and Blue?”
In the spirit of Barnett Newman who, through his seminal work, “Who’s Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue?” reclaimed ownership of the primary palette in 1966 from Piet Mondrian, the Lofts Projects is confronting the idea that any group can claim sole ownership of patriotism and the colors and symbols of our nation.
Join us for this inaugural art experiment where all six artists at the Lofts explore these treasured colors and symbols and their meaning during a complicated time in our nation’s history.
