As a heartfelt part of our program, we’re set to pay tribute to the profound legacy of the remarkable Toshiko Akiyoshi. The transformative Akiyoshi, now 93 years old, has reshaped the jazz landscape over her six-decade journey. As a pianist, bandleader, and composer-arranger, she has solidified her position as a pivotal figure in twentieth-century jazz history. In addition to the fabulous saxophonist Tomoka Nomura, we are thrilled to announce a special guest who will be joining the homage to Akiyoshi. This show is full of surprises!
