Experiment with various materials and found objects, and pull a few small prints on an intaglio press.
This workshop will demonstrate the stencil method of monoprinting using textured cloth, torn or cut paper, found objects such as feathers, string, leaves or any flat material that can be run through the intaglio press.
These materials can be layered to block out the transfer of ink to the paper or inked directly, creating layers of textural composition. The plate can be run through the press multiple times creating ghost effects of previous layers, while adding new freshly inked images to the print. Everyone will have time to experiment with various materials, and pull a few small prints on an intaglio press to take home.
All supplies included. No prior experience necessary.
