We will explore sub-alpine forests and mountain meadows for birds that live in this unique biotic community. Birds that we almost certainly will see include Mountain Chickadee, Pygmy Nuthatch, Steller’s Jay and White-headed Woodpecker and hope to see some of the specials like the Red Crossbill and the Red-breasted Sapsucker. The area is also home to 4 common conifers—Sugar Pine, Lodgepole Pine, Jeffrey Pine and White Fir, all of which birds rely on.
