Shakey’s Pizza traces its roots back to Sacramento, California, where founders Sherwood “Shakey” Johnson and Ed Plummer opened the first Shakey’s location. The unique name was derived from Sherwood’s distinctive dancing style — a nod to his childhood nickname, “Shakey”.
