Description

It’s Bike Month in the City of Palm Springs and local residents and your families are invited to celebrate on Saturday, May 19 at the 1st annual Bike Rodeo, organized by the Office of Sustainability in partnership with the Palm Springs Police Department and Palm Springs Parks and Recreation.

"Bring your children and learn about bike safety and much more," said Michele Mician, Manager of the Office of Sustainability. "It’s a great way to teach your children that riding a bike is not only good for you, but good for planet earth."

The rodeo, a bike obstacle course for your kids that teaches safety instructions, kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Camelot Theatre, 2300 E. Baristo Road, followed by a free 9:30 a.m. film screening of "The Power of Community." In addition, a limited supply of free bike helmets will be available for your children.

"Bike Month is an important Palm Springs tradition that helps remind residents in our city that we all can play a part in promoting sustainability and that it can be as easy as riding a bike," said Mayor Steve Pougnet. "I encourage every Palm Springs citizen to join me in celebrating Bike Month this May."
